School is in Session

The Centre for Energy's education resources continue to be one our most direct tools for ensuring Canadians' energy literacy. By providing our own Alberta curriculum-linked petroleum learning resources for Grades K-12, we are able to reach young Canadians whose knowledge about the country's energy is just taking shape.

In 2010 over 30,000 copies of our English and French curriculum-linked petroleum learning resources were downloaded. Our most popular English resource in 2010 was Petroleum Magic and in French, Petroleum - The Source of So Much was downloaded most often.

In 2010 our flagship Our Petroleum Challenge textbook was used in high schools and post secondary institutions to help students learn about the important role the petroleum industry plays in North America. Over 2,500 copies were purchased and over 4,500 copies of the annual chart and statistic supplement were downloaded.
