Petroleum the Source of So Much (1.1Mb PDF) introduces students, teachers and parents to the world of products that are made from petroleum and petrochemicals. Bold photos and graphics accompany information on how petroleum has moved well beyond gasoline. Hands-on activities included in the booklet can be completed in school or at home. An interactive graphic (English only) illustrates how petroleum is connected to where you live, what you eat and wear and how you move.

This resource (Teacher Guide, 1.1MB PDF), introduces students to the many petroleum-based everyday products. Activities invite students to apply their knowledge of science and links to technology, society and the environment, to real-life situations.

Students are also encouraged to develop an awareness of their personal attitudes and responsibilities as consumers by exploring the environmental impacts of new products and technology.
