New partners in energy
The Centre for Energy™ values its partners and seeks to develop long-term relationships that benefit its stakeholders. As a relatively new organization, the Centre for Energy has the potential through our network of partners to greatly increase the scope of our mandate to:
- build awareness and understanding of the Canadian energy sector and energy-related issues among North American audiences
- promote inquiry and informed, objective discussion regarding the Canadian energy sector and energy-related issues
- provide Canadian schools and teachers with outreach programs and energy-related, curriculum-linked educational materials for students from kindergarten to grade 12.

Alberta Energy
Alberta owns 81 per cent of the province's mineral rights. The Ministry of Energy manages the development and conservation of these resources on behalf of the people of Alberta, within the province's framework for sustainable resource and environmental management.
The Ministry of Energy consists of the Department of Energy (the Department), the Alberta Petroleum Marketing Commission, the Energy Resources Conservation Board and the Alberta Utilities Commission.

- Securing Benefits for Albertans – Secure Albertans' share and benefits from energy and mineral resource development.
- Resource Development – Ensure Alberta's energy and mineral resources remain accessible, competitive and attractive to investment and development.

- Regulation of Energy Development by the Energy Resources Conservation Board and Alberta Utilities Commission – Regulate the development and delivery of Alberta's energy resources and utilities services in a manner that is fair, responsible and in the public interest.
