Canada’s installed biomass power capacity

According to Pollution Probe, Canada has more than 1,600 megawatts of installed biomass power capacity. Most of this capacity is concentrated in the forestry and pulp and paper industries. Another 85 megawatts uses biogas from municipal landfill sites.
